America Legion Post 550
The American Legion Post 550 was chartered in 1920 after World War I. The current membership includes 43 veterans. The Post puts up the large and small flags at the cemetery, flags on main street for special days, military funerals, and they also do the color guard and float each year during Jewell Jubilee.

The Legion building on Main Street was built in 1920, and it is currently in need of repair. The Legion has applied for several grants to help repair the building, but has not yet received any grants.

Meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Federated Church. The Membership Fee is $35.00 per year. If you'd like more information, please contact Charles Richard at (515) 827-5616.
